‘It is what it is’ or ‘if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be’: homespun inanities worthy of an idiot. ‘Empty tautology’ as Hegel says, identitarian and paralogical, denying any sort of contingent, historical human act in its Calvinism of predestination, and thus any sort of philosophy. No, things have to be worked towards, without even the teleological fantasy of ‘progress’, fought tooth and nail for, all the more so when all seems hopeless and impossible.
